The Residency Program
The Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Program at Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center is fully accredited a four-year training program. The program is fully accredited by the American Dental Association and approved by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. There are four positions available, one for each year of training. The fourth year is the Chief Resident level.
The residents are exposed to the full scope of current, state-of-the-art oral and maxillofacial surgery i.e trauma, orthognathics, temporomandibular joint surgery, reconstructive and implant surgery, and sedation and general anesthetic procedures. The program is based of a strong academic and research curriculum.

Biweekly Orthognathic conference is held in conjugation with the Orthodontic and Oral Maxillofacial Surgery attendings.Predictions are ![]()
made using hand tracing of Lateral Cephlometric xray and utilizing the Dolphin Imaging Software.

Formal ten hour Oral Pathology lecture series is conducted in the academic year by Oral Pathology Attending. Residents are trained to read histology slides and work up a diiferential.
All residents are required to attend multi-institutional monthly New York Conference of Oral Pathology at Cornell University. Selected interesting cases are presented by the Chief Resident and Senior Resident in December each year.
Bone plating seminars are arranged to teach mechanics and physiology of fractures and plating systems.
